Biodegradation of chlorpyrifos by bacterial genus pseudomonas putida

چکیده

Chlorpyrifos is an solid organophosphorus pesticide widely used in agriculture. It relatively stable to hydrolysis neutral pH and acidic aqueous solutions. Stability decreases with increasing pH. practically insoluble water, but highly soluble most organic solvents such as acetone xylene methyl bromide. effective skin, stomach respiratory insecticide against aphids, spider mites, soil bugs house pests. also toxic bees fish. Most pesticides are complex molecules persistent the environment, either biota or accumulate environment. In pesticide-used areas, itself its residues transported by rain irrigation water mixes into groundwater. The effects caused closely related level of accumulation. During studies, contamination chlorpyrifos has been found about 24 km from site application. There many physico-chemical biological approaches remove ecosystem, among them promising biodegradation. this study, biodegradation potential P. Putida was investigated batch stirred reactor. optimum conditions, maximum removal rate determined 1.51 mg/g. d. m.o.h.

Biodegradation of propiconazole by Pseudomonas putida isolated from tea rhizosphere

Biodegradation of triazole fungicide propiconazole was carried out in vitro by selected Pseudomonas strains isolated from tea rhizosphere. A total number of twelve strains were isolated and further screened based on their tolerance level to propiconazole. Four best strains were selected and further tested for their nutritional requirements. Among the different carbon sources tested glucose exhi...

Biodegradation of hydrogen sulfide by a laboratory-scale immobilized Pseudomonas putida CH11 biofilter.

A heterotrophic Pseudomonas putida CH11 was isolated from livestock farming wastewater and applied for the treatment of H2S-containing gas. Extensive tests including removal characteristics, metabolic products, and removal efficiencies of H2S by P. putida CH11 were examined in batch and continuous systems. The optimum pH required to remove hydrogen sulfide was found in the range of 6-8. The max...

Biodegradation of Effluents from Dairy Plant by Bacterial Isolates

Micro flora of the effluents from a dairy factory in Tehran(Pegah Dairy Processing Plant) were isolated and screened for their ability to reduce the organic matter content and COD of the effluents. 10 bacteria were selected due to  reduction in COD content from the 4th to 6th day of incubation at 30 °C and  pH =11. Highest COD reduction were obtained by two isolates, BP3...

Biodegradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons by Pseudomonas species

Biodegradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, toxic compounds widely distributed in the environment by bacteria, is a cheap and safe cleaning up method. The present study attempts to isolate and characterize dioxygenase-producing bacteria which are able to degrade phenanthrene and pyrene from refinery soils. It also aims to assess in vitro biodegradation. To do so, two contaminated soil s...
